“What is right may not always be what is popular, and what is popular may not always be what is right.” Unknown
I first saw this thought when visiting a local office supply business in Arkansas.
God said it this way; “You shall not follow the masses in doing evil.” Exodus 23:2. He certainly understood the problems associated with following the majority.
Our children, in their early years, would frequently say, “Everyone is doing it.” I will never forget the first time I heard the thought that the only time in the history of humanity that everyone was doing it was in the Garden of Eden and it was called “sin.”
Simply because the majority may be involved in doing something, does not necessarily mean the minority should follow.
Christians will always be in the minority. Providing spiritual leadership among the minority will face its challenges, but it is necessary.
As we witness many congregations following the path of liberal tendencies, now is the time to stand up for what is right, even though it may not be popular.
