Congruence

Congruence: Compatibility, agreement, balance, and consistency.

Compatibility promotes working together without conflict. This doesn’t mean problems or disagreements go away, but avoiding the destructive nature of conflict builds congruence.

Agreement is shared by leaders when the foundation upon which decisions are made comes from a common standard. Pride, opinion, and agenda driven approaches destroy congruence.

Balance is one of the most important words in leadership. Leaning to the left or the right creates the potential of moving away from the foundation that provides balance for leadership congruence.

Consistency is a virtue. Inconsistency promotes hypocrisy that attacks the congruence leaders need to help others reach the goal(s).

An Invoice

An invoice serves several purposes for both the one writing the invoice and the one receiving it. What is interesting is how the idea of an invoice also factors into areas of leadership.

An invoice communicates information about services rendered and materials purchased.

An invoice serves as a point of reference for both parties and allows future access to all information.

An invoice also represents an agreement, contract, or commitment for each person identified.

If leaders communicate information (vision, goals, plans, etc.) as a point of reference, imagine the impact and commitment it would generate.

An In Sync Leadership…

Why is it so important to write about leaders who are “in sync”?

The idea indicates something works well together. There is harmony or agreement. We do not have to look far to understand why leaders need this quality.

How can we determine when we are in sync?

1) When leaders and followers work to reach a common goal, they are in sync.

2) When each understands the objectives and harmony is demonstrated, they are in sync.

3) When love for one another exists, they are in sync.

Action, coupled with the right attitude and motives, will always provide the basis for a leadership that is in sync.
