Harmonizing Leadership

From a spiritual perspective, few areas carry greater weight than the ability to work with different people in different situations and pull everything together into a relationship of harmony and effective work.

An obvious challenge to this way of thinking is the stubborn, obstinate, self-driven, self-serving, or arrogant attitudes that are often displayed by those who find their place in trying to destroy good ideas or plans.

Regardless, working with people is going to surface the good and bad in others. Therefore, a leader’s responsibility involves finding ways to work with these individuals and situations in ways to reach the ultimate good of the whole.

An In Sync Leadership…

Why is it so important to write about leaders who are “in sync”?

The idea indicates something works well together. There is harmony or agreement. We do not have to look far to understand why leaders need this quality.

How can we determine when we are in sync?

1) When leaders and followers work to reach a common goal, they are in sync.

2) When each understands the objectives and harmony is demonstrated, they are in sync.

3) When love for one another exists, they are in sync.

Action, coupled with the right attitude and motives, will always provide the basis for a leadership that is in sync.

Others-Centered Leadership…

The world is self-centered and people often look out only for themselves.

Rare is the individual whose legacy is built upon doing things for others. Kalu Kalu wrote, “The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.”

Spiritual leaders stand out for this quality. Why?

Jesus taught and set this example. The final lesson before His death was the lesson of servanthood.

The apostles taught it to the early church. Unity and harmony are built on service.

When we follow, we leave a legacy that leads to a home with God.
