An Eternal Matter

When we boil it all down, what really matters?

We often make life complicated. We get caught up in trivial pursuits and do not focus of what really matters.

Please do not misunderstand. We must work to provide for our families. We need time for rest and recreation. There are also family responsibilities.

If, however, we believe that spiritual and eternal matters are the priority, then why do we often spend our lives focused on areas that are temporary in nature?

As we end 2025 and begin 2026, a new year, let us lead with our priorities firmly established and influence the major areas of life in ways to make heaven that much sweeter.

How Will You Be Remembered?

A new year has begun. How will 2022 be remembered for you?

There are times leaders are asked to leave, and times when they choose to leave. How a leader walks away determines the nature of how they will be remembered.

Shattered farewells leave everyone hurting.

Divisive farewells leave followers turned against one another.

Venomous farewells leave a feeling of animosity, anger, distrust, and a lack of direction.

Gracious farewells leave followers united with a greater dedication to achieve the established vision, goals, and will of God, strengthening the overall good of everyone.

We are leaders and how we lead when we leave makes a difference.

Preparing for the New Year

How do you close out one year and begin another? We like a fresh start, new opportunities, a renewed sense of hope that things will be better. Perhaps this is why New Year’s Resolutions are popular.

As you close out 2021 and start 2022 consider four possibilities.

1) Establish essential resolutions. These are resolutions that build confidence in our leadership.
2) Set daily reminders. Find a way to remind yourself of these resolutions every day.
3) Connect resolutions to others. Use a support system to encourage fulfilling each one.
4) Celebrate each victory. Find a way to celebrate the achievement with a reminder of more to come.
