Potential…Part 4

Let me share three ideas to help each of us move toward greater potential.

Remind others of the possibilities. When we do so, we accomplish the need for a supportive coalition and we create an accountability team.

Develop the plan into sections. The big picture can overwhelm and discourage us from the task at hand. Plan smaller sections and build on short-term wins.

Begin now. Potential is not reached by thinking about what we should have done years ago, or by procrastination. The best time to start is NOW!

Faith-based Leadership

An old Chinese proverb claims that “limitations are the boundaries we place in our minds.” What do we consider to be possible or impossible?

While we claim that all things are possible with God, do we really believe it?

We say we have faith, then turn around and place limitations on what we hope to accomplish because it has not been done before. Do we really believe?

Since God is our strength and He made us fellow-workers in His kingdom, we need to stop thinking in the realm of impossibility. Maybe if we moved out of the way, God would do some incredible things.

Unlimited Possibilities…

What would we attempt to do if we knew we could not fail? Anthony Robbins says, “What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.”

An old Chinese proverb claims, “Limitations are the boundaries we place in our own minds.”

Leaders must know what they believe about themselves and recognize that with God all things are possible.

They must believe it, live as though they believe it, and influence others to believe it.

This is leadership!

Leadership Opportunities…

Opportunities are circumstances providing possibility, either to be gained or lost.

It’s a matter of faith. If we cannot see the possibilities, we will never take advantage of the opportunities.

But, how will these opportunities reach their greatest potential?

1) We must open our eyes to the physical and spiritual needs of all people.
2) We must be ready to get involved, meaning we need to get our hands dirty.
3) We must rely completely on God to open the doors and use us to His glory.

Leaders must seize opportunities with faith in the incredible possibilities God provides.
