Checklists

It is amazing how much more effectively we work and all we can accomplish when we have a checklist.

Spiritual leaders need to form a checklist. The list takes into consideration the three Ws.

Who we lead is crucial to understanding how we lead.

What needs to be accomplished addresses needs, abilities, opportunities, responsibilities, and the dreams of others.

Why we lead helps us see clearly the direction ahead for the plans we formulate and follow.

When we take a few simple ideas and ask ourselves the right questions, the checklist will lead to greater efficiency and accomplishment for the Lord.

Application

Leaders are often good at telling people what to do. However, they can fall short of guiding others in how to do it.

Leading involves helping others learn how to do the task. That means…

We have to learn the best ways to accomplish the task.

We need a better working knowledge of people and how they work best.

We must also learn how to express the application in ways that encourage and excite others to get involved.

Leading others hinges on proper application. Good leadership is not simply telling others what to do, but helping them learn how to do it.

Our Drive and Purpose

Start With Why, by Simon Sinek, discusses the importance of our WHY in life and leadership. Before we can explore HOW and WHAT in relationship to both, we need to understand WHY.

Mark Twain said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

We recognize HOW leaders can inspire others to take action. When they know WHY, they possess a drive and purpose in life that is unstoppable.

If we truly want to eliminate the impossibility factor, then we need to communicate WHY to those we lead. When that happens, look out!
