Five Leadership Components…

Organization, arrangement, design, forethought, and groundwork are key components in our leadership.

Organization: Organizational success is determined by the strength of its leadership.

Arrangement: The arrangement of each component is critical for development.

Design: The design stage in planning is where dreams unfold into direction.

Forethought: When planning, forethought includes vision, goals, mission, core values, people, and obstacles.

Groundwork: The groundwork is based on the forethought given to the specific nature of planning.

When leaders in the Lord’s kingdom give thought to planning based on these five components, the reality of success occurs at the right time and the right place.

Yesterday and Today…

Between yesterday and today, leaders dream about the future, envision possibilities, and plan ways to achieve greatness in the Lord’s kingdom.

We cannot change the past. We can only learn from it, look ahead, and make the right changes.

Remember three simple principles.

1) No matter where the road leads, God is with us and for us.
2) It is worth whatever the price to leave an example worth emulating.
3) The strength to achieve any task is measured by the desire to succeed.

The moment between yesterday and today is an opportunity to make a difference for tomorrow.

Leadership and Technology…

Advances in technology have changed the way we communicate and carry out leadership.

Leaders must learn how best to use technology to assist in their leadership.

First, do not deny, reject, or excuse the technology that exists. Technology is here to stay. Embrace it.
Second, be open to and take time to learn. Seek help.
Third, use areas of technology where followers are engaged. If they use Facebook, then get on Facebook.
Fourth, always approach and use technology as a tool for building up others.

If we use technology appropriately, it can be a tool of great influence for the kingdom.

How Did We Use Our Time?

Today marks the beginning of a new month and, hopefully, positive steps toward the end of a pandemic.

Have you wondered where the time went? 

Perhaps a more pertinent question is, “What did we do with the time to influence lasting change in the lives of others?”

We should ask ourselves, “Did we introduce someone to Jesus? Did we provide a greater influence for the kingdom?”

Although the pandemic may not be completely over, we must always think about our influence and how we lead others.

Catalyst Leadership…

When leaders serve as catalysts amazing developments occur.

In their book, The Starfish and the Spider, Brafman and Beckstrom researched several areas concerning leadership and the qualities of a catalyst. 

Consistent with each was their desire to help others. The examples reflect something of a spiritual catalyst in nature.

Spiritual catalysts provide powerful influence because they desire to help others. 

Catalysts help others see their potential in the Lord’s kingdom.
Catalysts help others implement plans to reach their potential.
Catalysts help others connect with people to assist them in reaching their potential.

The need for catalysts is significant in the development of the Lord’s kingdom.

A Spiritual Leader…

How should we define “spiritual” leadership? 

Here are a few possibilities. Spiritual leaders…

1) Move people to be more like God.
2) Rely on grace found in the blood of Christ.
3) Work to accomplish the will of God.
4) Encourage the fainthearted.
5) Admonish the unruly. 
6) Strengthen the weak.
7) Seek first the kingdom of God.
8) Pray without ceasing.
9) Search the scriptures daily.
10) Trust fully in God’s providential working.

These are only 10 suggestions, but take a lifetime to develop as leaders. God’s word challenges us to grow into His spiritual leaders.

The Future of Leadership…

What does the future of leadership look like for the Lord’s church?

Is there an understanding of why this is important for the future?

Are plans being made for the next generation of leaders and how they will lead?

Will the legacy left behind be one of strong leadership?

Who will take the role of preparing these leaders for the time when they are needed?

When will the plans be enacted?

These are only a few questions that deserve consideration, but the answers are vital to knowing the future of God’s kingdom. Are we ready?

Childlike Leadership…

The world is a different place when looking through the eyes of a child. Imagine how doing so would help our leadership.

Worry not about tomorrow, it might not come anyway.

It is okay to get angry, but make up quickly and play as if it never happened.

Stop thinking about the clock. The value of time cannot really be measured by it.

Live life with anticipation of what we get to do each day.

Value the security of knowing someone else is in charge. Thank you Father.

We can learn much from children and their approach to life. Jesus said that unless we become like them we cannot enter the kingdom.
