Best in Leadership

Bring out the best in others. Isn’t that what we all desire?

Although the author is unknown, this quote is amazing. “In life, you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it’s worth it.”

As leaders, may we always remember that our task in this life is to bring out the best in other people.

Test of Leadership

Abraham is a great example specifically identified with the testing of his faith. “God tested Abraham” is how the text begins with the command from God to offer his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering.

James speaks to the purpose of testing as a way to produce endurance which ultimately results in completeness.

How should we respond to tests within our leadership?

Prayer is the best place to begin.
Hold fast to the word of God.
Seek the counsel of spiritual and godly leaders.
Remember to trust God is working to prepare us.

Leadership and Challenges…

One word that consistently characterizes life and leadership is challenges. The idea speaks to “a task or situation to test someone’s abilities.”

Remember these truths about challenges to our leadership.

We will all face challenges.

Challenges that test our abilities will be unique.

Challenges are temporary.

Overcoming challenges begins and ends at the throne of God.

Challenges always serve a greater purpose.

I do not know of anyone who enjoys challenges, but I do know the result is greatly beneficial to our leadership.
